Choosing your zipper size: #5 zipper tape is a sturdy favorite for handbags, totes, backpacks, and other bag-making projects. #3 zipper tape has a slimmer profile that works beautifully for apparel, lightweight pouches, and smaller sewing projects. Always pair your tape with the same size zipper pull—#5 pulls with #5 tape and #3 pulls with #3 tape.
